Episode Details

The old Opie & Anthony crowd knows the chaos never really stopped. In this raw, no-filter episode of Opie: Final Mic Drop, Jim Breuer and Chris Distefano sit in with Opie during his final year of professional radio—and the man is still firing on all cylinders. They dive deep into Sam Kinison’s legendary, game-changing bits (the marriage rant that still destroys, the AIDS bit, “stop sending them money”), Opie’s life-changing late-’80s meeting with Kinison, and the mind-blowing story of Sam's lovechild. Then it gets darker and wilder: Japan’s Aokigahara Suicide Forest, the Golden Gate Bridge documentary that catches people jumping, survivors who instantly regret it, Breuer’s crippling fear of heights, VR panic attacks, self-driving cars, Russian kids hanging off 30-story cranes by one hand, and why the NFL is killing its own personality. Pure, unfiltered radio energy from the post-O&A era when Opie was still operating at that high level. If you miss the days when anything could (and did) happen on the air, this one’s for you.
