It's about time

“It’s about time” means:

“This should have happened earlier.”

Or:

“We’ve been waiting a long time for this.”

Example: 

Imagine there’s a broken elevator in your building.

Every week, someone says:

“They’re fixing it soon.”

A week passes.

Nothing.

Then another.

Still nothing.

Finally, one morning, you see someone repairing it.

Your neighbor says:

“They’re finally fixing the elevator!”

And you reply:

“It’s about time!”
