Zach Cregger's Resident Evil (2026) spoiler-free review: two of us loved it, one wanted more. Watch or Skip?

Zach Cregger's Resident Evil (2026) is here, and the Watch Skip Plus crew is split! Cupcake and returning guest Kevin from Raiders of the Podcast loved it. Mike had a much more mixed time. This is our SPOILER-FREE review: no plot beyond the basics and no ending talk. The SPOILER'D episode drops later this week.

After Barbarian and Weapons, Cregger takes on the video game horror franchise with Austin Abrams (Euphoria, Weapons) in the lead and John Wick writer Shay Hatten co-writing. We dig into whether this Resident Evil movie feels like the games, or like watching someone play one. As usual BEFORE verdicts, the hosts discuss production - Cregger's comedy roots, the co-writer's hit-or-miss track record, cinematographer Darius Wolski - and how it stacks up against Paul W.S. Anderson's Milla Jovovich series and the previous bomb reboot Welcome to Raccoon City.
