Published 3 weeks, 6 days ago
Description
Fibber McGee and Molly presents “New Years Eve Party with Fred Waring,” episode 497, originally broadcast December 31, 1946. This local archival recording preserves an unusual New Year’s Eve installment from the series’ regular time slot.
Instead of a visit to Wistful Vista, Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians host a festive musical celebration for Johnson’s Wax on NBC. Featuring Bill Bivens, the program takes listeners on a musical tour of Times Square and offers several seasonal takes on “Auld Lang Syne.”
Fibber McGee and Molly presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
