Candidates for four state and county offices took questions from the public Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Illinois State and Knox County Candidate Forum, held at the Galesburg Public Library and sponsored by Galesburg NAACP Branch 3016. The forum was moderated by Heather Norman, general manager of Tri States Public Radio. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Candidates who participated: Illinois Senate District 36: Mike Halpin (incumbent) and Brad Beekman (challenger) Illinois House District 71: Dan Swanson (incumbent) and Kermit Thomas (challenger) Knox County Clerk: Scott Erickson (incumbent) and Johan Henrikson (challenger) Knox County Treasurer: Robin Davis (incumbent) and Jerrie Ann Walters (challenger) Tri States Public Radio livestreamed video of the forum on its website, tspr.org.
