Gullible for your own Safety!
Description
Tonight I was joined by Survival Steve and Pink Planet for a lively, freewheeling discussion built around the idea of being “gullible for your own safety”. We ranged from surveillance culture, war propaganda and conscription to the way fear, media messaging and official narratives shape how people think and behave. Along the way we compared present-day rhetoric with the build-up to past conflicts, reflected on why so many people still trust authority, and had a proper chinwag about natural law, self-defence, strategic thinking, and the difference between reacting to events and getting ahead of them.
In the second half, Steve got practical and talked through everyday survival-minded kit, improvised self-defence items, bug-out bag basics, clothing, maps, first-aid essentials, hydration, morale, and why simple preparation still matters. It was one of those classic Fockham Hall evenings where serious subjects, odd detours, black humour and practical know-how all collided in the same room — with plenty of blunt opinions, audience questions and a bloody good laugh along the way.
