Charity volunteers say they must pay for their food waste recycling
Description
Charites which operate from Petersfield Community Centre are likely to face additional costs for food waste processing. That's the message from Emma Bunday, the centre manager.
As households across our area receive their food waste caddies, the community centre volunteers have been told they're excluded from the scheme by East Hampshire District Council.
Council contractors collect their regular waste and recycling but the council says it will not extend the service to cover food waste at the Love Lane centre.
Hear from Emma, Age Concern cook Marion and food preparation volunteer Liz. They're speaking to Shine Radio's Stephen Martin.
We've approached EHDC for comment and they promise to come back to us with a response.
