Vance Kicks 750,000 Off Obamacare For Never Going To The Doctor. Cries Fraud.

Description

JD Vance just kicked 750,000 people off Obamacare, and one of his red flags for fraud is that they never went to the doctor.

Vance and Dr. Oz rolled this out Tuesday as a fraud crackdown, and Oz walked us through the red flags. These people signed up through a broker, their premiums were fully covered by tax credits, and they never filed a claim. They had health insurance and didn’t use it. Healthy customers who never file claims aren’t a scam. They’re the reason the insurance company can afford your kid’s broken arm. Oz is a heart surgeon, and he just discovered how insurance works and reported it to himself as fraud.”

He also wanted to know why enrollment doubled during Covid. “So the question becomes, what happened?” A pandemic happened, my dude. It was on every channel, including yours.

Oz calls these people “phantoms,” and he’s sure, because the government tried “writing them, telexing them, FedExing.” Telexing. Somewhere in a basement at the Medicare agency, a guy is feeding paper tape into a machine the size of a minivan, whispering, why won’t the ghosts write back?

There’s a fourth red flag. No Social Security number or immigration papers the agency could verify “in real time.” So if the government’s own computer is too slow to pull up your green card, you’re a ghost now. The administration hasn’t said who got cut or how they were told, so a lot of these phantoms are going to find out at the pharmacy counter.

Then Vance did the math. He said the $2.2 billion they’re saving equals “550,000 American children’s worth of health care.” What the feck, you converted a budget into children, a unit of measurement usually found in ransom notes.

It gets better. Jonathan Larsen at The Fecking News reports Oz held up one Florida case as proof of how bad fraud got under Biden. Two brokers got the government to pay out at least $180 million by signing up homeless people and people struggling with addiction. So The Fecking News pulled the court records. The Justice Department says that scheme started in August 2018. Gee whiz, I wonder who was president in August of 2018? Trump. The fraud started under Trump, got investigated under Biden, and now it’s their Exhibit A for Biden going soft on fraud.

Those brokers hurt people by wrecking their Medicaid coverage and dumping them into plans they didn’t qualify for. Vance’s fix for people losing their coverage is more people losing their coverage. And it’s stacking on top of the Big Beautiful Bullshit Bill. The New York Times reports that law’s cuts to food stamps and health care are already hitting people before the election, and more cuts from that bill start rolling in next month. Vance says another 419,000 people are getting “some additional verification,” and Oz says, “We’re giving them another chance.” Another chance to answer the telex.

The election is 41 days away. The fraud czar just found 750,000 people who don’t go to the doctor. Let’s see how many of them go to the polls.
