After going back through the film, Auburn’s offensive performance against Florida was not quite as disastrous as it initially felt watching the game live. There were mistakes. There were missed opportunities. There were communication issues between Byrum Brown and his receivers. And yes, Auburn’s offensive line had a rough afternoon.

But there were also opportunities for this offense to simplify things.

That starts with Jeremiah Cobb.

When a running back is consistently giving Auburn productive carries, giving him the football only nine times makes it difficult for the running game to ever develop a rhythm. Auburn has talked about establishing an offensive identity, and this matchup against Vanderbilt could provide an opportunity to finally do it.

Vanderbilt has had its own problems stopping the run.
