Back to EpisodesPsalm 75: How To Stay Humble In Victory
Description
Your biggest win can become your biggest blind spot. Psalm 75 doesn’t let us celebrate on autopilot, because it forces one clear question: who really brought the victory? I’m Pastor Brandon, and today we slow down and walk through Psalm chapter 75 with a simple goal, learning how to stay humble when life goes your way.
We start where the psalm starts, with gratitude. “We thank you, O God” isn’t a nice religious opener; it’s a reset for the heart. When God comes through, it’s tempting to replay our effort and assume that was the deciding factor. Psalm 75 reminds us that God is near, God is just, and God holds the foundations firm when everything feels shaky. That truth comforts us when we lose, and it keeps us grounded when we win.
Then we get practical. We talk about pride, boasting, and the thin line between confidence and defiance, because the psalm says God decides who rises and who falls. I also jump on a quick soapbox about something you’ve definitely seen: the awkward “humblebrag” that hides behind spiritual words. There’s a better way. You can accept a compliment with a sincere “thank you,” while still giving the ultimate glory to the Lord and remembering you’re the vessel he used.
