Format/Genre: A cinematic coming-of-age audio rom-com and romantic audio drama about first love, fake dating, jealousy, emotional honesty and the terrifying moment when two people finally admit what they really want.

Logline: What begins as Izzy Lopez’s carefully staged fake double date turns into the night she has secretly wanted for years, forcing her and Miles Pires Shah to confront the feelings they have both been trying not to say out loud.

Izzy Lopez arrives at an impossibly romantic restaurant expecting a double date with Miles Pires Shah, Dina and her newly recruited fake boyfriend Mason Ramos, only to discover that Dina is not coming and Miles had apparently imagined something far more intimate. With Mason suddenly sitting between them, the evening becomes an awkward collision of jealousy, competition and badly hidden feelings as Miles watches another boy openly choose Izzy in a way he never expected to see.

But Mason’s attempts to prove how well he knows Izzy uncover something even more important: Miles has been paying attention too. He remembers details about her that Izzy never realised he had noticed, and when Mason briefly leaves the table, Miles finally admits that Dina is not really his girlfriend and that he invited Izzy because the moments they shared at the bus stop and dance studio felt real to him.

With the fake-boyfriend plan exposed, Izzy is forced to admit why she needed Mason in the first place: she has spent so long believing that someone like Miles could never genuinely choose someone like her. Miles answers by telling Izzy what he actually sees — her kindness, determination, honesty and the way she refuses to abandon people when they need her most — leaving her to confront the possibility that the person she has spent years trying to impress may already like the person she is.

By the end of the evening, the fake double date has quietly become a real one. Miles and Izzy finally admit that they like each other, revealing that the red scarf, the bus stop and every awkward little moment between them meant far more than either was willing to say. But just as their relationship seems ready to cross a new line, Izzy’s father Michael Lopez Campbell steps in with another problem entirely: Gloria Okafor’s growing controversy has reached home, and Izzy’s dancing may be over before it has truly begun.

American Bollywood Episode 6 is a heartfelt romantic podcast episode about being seen, being chosen and discovering that sometimes the person you are desperately trying to become worthy of has already fallen for the person standing in front of them.
