Episode Details

This week on Kraken Cans Cast, we’re diving into the bizarre legend of the Joint Snake — a Fearsome Critter said to be so strange that you could cut it into pieces and somehow watch those pieces come back together.

We’re talking about the old stories surrounding this supposedly nearly indestructible snake, including the absolutely wild claim that it could even take your knife with it when it reassembled.

But there might be a real animal hiding underneath the legend. We’ll look at the glass lizard, a legless reptile that can shed its tail, move after breaking away, and eventually grow a new one.

So did people witness something incredible in nature and turn it into a legendary creature? Or was there more to the Joint Snake than meets the eye?

Grab a cold one and join us for another trip into the weird world of Fearsome Critters.
