Melbourne man arrested over alleged ISIS propaganda distribution

Published 2 weeks, 3 days ago
Description
A 65-year-old Melbourne man has been arrested and accused of being a member of ISIS following a counter-terrorism operation at his Carlton home. The AFP alleges the man acted as an online propagandist, distributing approximately 10,000 files containing extremist ISIS content between November 2015 and July 2020. The investigation began after Australian Border Force seized electronic devices containing suspicious material from the man at Melbourne Airport, which allegedly revealed he pledged allegiance to ISIS and shared videos, photographs and documents glorifying violence, terrorism and mass casualty attacks.
