Description
GET REAL
Get real.
 Worlds divided
Which one you gonna choose? What’s the appeal? Get real. Bustling crowd!
 Soldiers lined up for pay!
 girls sing school songs!
 Little white blouses—
long blue skirts— Bright sunshine—
scarves everywhere! I pull my chord—
 I'm airborne, in heaven—
harmonies turn fire!
 Fire in my eyes!
Fire on the skin I shed!
I still feel it!
 I can't close my eyes!
 I see blood on blouses—
blood on scarves! I burn—
they kick my face! I can't run—
I AM IN HELL.
 Paradise?
 Who decides? Get real!
Worlds divided, one done, one yet to be born,
 Choose the latter—
new day, new horn.
It is a burden, carrying perfection
 that you do not own.
 So drop that weight—
leave it alone! Get real.
One yet to be born— get real!
Two souls colliding,
 for fun, to cry,
 the cannonball will fly—
and there goes paradise.
Which man was the Christ?
 Who was bringing us light?
 From whence did he come?
 Don't tell me—
show me! Let’s get it done! Get real.
The mystical power,
imagination
 hearts pound to chimera
 formed from within.
 altering steps,
 gliding decision,
 determining fate—
what great power
 foolishness baits.
GET REAL!
 confiding, then chiding
 your mother’s ghost,
 who is nowhere in sight.
 oh, she’s Satan’s toast
 infracted, infected,
debilitated, but steeled. Done. Are we ever really done? No. Get real.

 Three worlds divided—
two done, one yet to be born.
 I'll take the last, please.
