For 30 years, Stone-Hayes Center for Independent Living has helped people with disabilities across Knox, Warren and Henderson counties live more independently — for free, no exceptions. Sarah Nelson, the center's community reintegration coordinator, joined Galesburg's Morning News Monday, Sept. 21, to preview Thursday's open house celebrating the milestone, from the guest speakers to the center's full range of services. "We just want to help people," Nelson said. "We're a phone call away."
