Galesburg City Council takes up a first-reading ordinance tonight establishing a 180-day moratorium on new data center permits in the city, running through April 3, 2027. City Manager Eric Hanson joined Galesburg's Morning News Monday, Sept. 21, ahead of tonight's 6 p.m. meeting at Galesburg City Hall, to preview the moratorium along with the rest of the agenda — including the retirement of longtime police K9 Dax.
