Dressage Today S7E12: Unsung Hero Interview with Jenn Koch

Published 1 week, 5 days ago
Description

Welcome to the Dressage Today Podcast, sponsored this month by KPP’s AirWise and Tribute Equine Nutrition! This month we catch up a bit with Aviva and Stephany – Aviva has air conditioning finally, and where in the world is Stephany now?! All is revealed in their intro conversation. Aviva goes into detail about her experiences with virtual showing, from the judge’s point of view, and how different groups do it differently. It is a great in depth look at the avenue of virtual showing, brought to you through a great Ask the L question from Heather!

This month we chat with our latest Unsung Hero Nominee, Jennifer Koch. Jennifer represents the kind of quiet, steadfast leadership that keeps dressage thriving behind the scenes. A USEF r Technical Delegate from Eastern Pennsylvania, Jen brings professionalism, deep rule knowledge, and a genuine desire to help riders have positive, fair experiences in the show environment. But what makes her truly extraordinary is the way she shows up for people and for the sport — consistently, generously, and without ever seeking recognition. Jen’s service extends far beyond helping individuals. She is the President of the Youth Dressage FUNdation, which runs the Region 1 Youth Dressage Team Challenge each year in Virginia. Her commitment to youth development is unmatched: she has served on the USDF National Youth Programs Committee, held multiple GMO leadership roles, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of her local horse park. She works tirelessly to create opportunities for young riders, strengthen community programs, and ensure the future of dressage is bright, inclusive, and well-supported.

All of this would be impressive on its own — but Jen does it while working full-time as a teacher and pursuing her Master’s degree.

We loved talking with Jen, and we know you will enjoy listening all about what she does (and how she fits it all in!). Take a listen now!
