According to Nisei Farmers League, rising diesel prices are becoming a major concern for California farmers and truckers, prompting the Fresno-based organization to propose an October 1 "No Movement of Goods Day" to highlight the growing cost of producing and transporting food.
California is beginning the process of prohibiting insurers from considering a driver's marital status when setting auto insurance rates. Ricardo Lara argues that premiums should reflect driving behavior and risk, not personal circumstances such as being married, single, divorced, or widowed. If approved, the change could take effect by July 2027.
