Back to EpisodesBusiness Lessons From Our 2nd Flip House
Description
After closing on our first flip house, I quickly realized that every new project brings another round of lessons. We are now in the early stages of our second flip, what we hope will be a six-week renovation, and I am already seeing business lessons that have nothing to do with construction and everything to do with how you lead.
In this episode, I'm talking about being direct, standing firm in your decisions, navigating conflict, staying true to the original scope of a project, and recognizing when someone is taking advantage of what you are willing to offer. These are lessons that apply far beyond real estate. They show up when you are managing employees, working with clients, hiring help, setting expectations, and making decisions in your business.
If you are in a season of growth, this is your reminder that being kind does not mean being passive, and being generous does not mean allowing your boundaries to be crossed. You can lead with grace while still holding firm to what you have said, what you agreed to, and where your line in the sand is.
