En: I am Diogo, a dedicated student with a secret passion for music festivals.

En: She was ambitious, always with a plan laid out for a brilliant future.
En: But on that day, things were more tense than usual.
En: We had a big literature exam the next day, but at the same time, it was the Festival de São Mateus, a local event I'd been looking forward to all year.
Pt: "Diogo, precisamos estudar", insistiu Inês, enquanto consultava suas anotações.
En: "Diogo, we need to study," insisted Inês, while consulting her notes.
En: "The festival isn't going anywhere, but our grades..."
Liberdade!"
En: "But Inês," I pleaded, "it's just for a few hours. Music, friends... Freedom!"
En: My desire to go to the festival was stronger than the weight of the books.
Pt: "Vai nos ajudar a relaxar".
En: "It will help us relax."
En: Inês gave me a serious look, but offered a small smile.
Pt: "Sabes que não sei relaxar. Temos de nos concentrar."
En: "You know I don't know how to relax. We need to focus."
En: The debate was as hot as the roasted chestnuts sold on the street.
En: I knew she was right, but to me, music was as important as literature.
En: Desperate for a bit of fun, I decided to do the unthinkable: wait until Inês got absorbed in her books and then sneak out to the festival.
En: Later, as the distant sounds of the festival grew nearer, I decided to act.
