Description
You'll do 75 Hard. Two workouts a day, one outside, alarm goes off, weather irrelevant. You can see the number coming down. Day 18. Day 37. Day 61.
You'll train for the marathon. You can hate mile 22 because mile 26.2 exists.
You'll do the Ironman. Months of early mornings, days where you wonder why you signed up — but the date is circled and the finish line is waiting.
Someone puts a medal around your neck. You've got the photo. You've got the story you'll tell at dinner.
You'll suffer. You've already proved that.
The problem isn't difficulty. The problem is the mirror.
No medal hanging from it. No finish line painted across the bathroom floor. No date when someone walks in and tells you you're done.
The race ended yesterday. The mirror is still there this morning. Same place. Same light. Same man standing in front of it.
And you haven't got a story to tell anybody about that.
This is the conversation successful men don't have — not because they lack discipline, but because they've quietly replaced want with need, and buried the answer underneath something that sounds like maturity.
I don't need a six-pack.
Nobody asked what you needed.
