Revelation 1:9-20 opens Church Reviews with a picture of the risen Jesus standing among his churches. What changes when we realize he's already in the room? Most of us know how to look fine when somebody's watching. We can do it at church, too. John sees the Lord who knows what's happening underneath that performance, and the vision drops him at Jesus' feet. Then Jesus puts his hand on him and tells him not to be afraid. This sermon introduces the seven churches of Revelation and asks how Christ's presence changes the way we hear his correction. The One who speaks has passed through death and holds its keys. We can listen honestly because our lives are in his hands. Watch the whole service from the sermon notes and video page linked below.
