Sometimes we get discouraged because we don’t know how long it’s going to take for things to get better.
The people of Israel had survived, but they were still a long way from thriving.
It was then that the prophet reminded them that God loves us with an everlasting love (ʾahavat ʿolam, אַהֲבַת עוֹלָם) and continues to draw us with steadfast love (ḥesed, חֶסֶד).
