Episode Details

Day 3 of playing SteemHop new season and I can finally say I am getting better at this game, the first two days were really rough for me because I kept dying in stupid ways, sometimes a car would hit me right at the start, sometimes I would jump into the river because I mistimed the logs, and sometimes the train would just come and crush me when I was trying to be fast. Today I opened the game on http://steemhop.org around evening time and I was sitting at 135 coins with a top score of 93, so my main goal for day 3 was just to try and beat that top score and maybe push my coins a bit higher, I was not even thinking about leaderboard yet I just wanted to have a clean run without making silly mistakes.
The beginning of day 3 was still full of frustration honestly, I died like five times in a row within the first few seconds of the game, you can even see it in the video where I kept getting -1, -1, 0, 0 and the big STEEM HOP logo kept popping up every time I failed, it was annoying because the cars on the road were just coming non stop and I was rushing my jumps. I had to pause for like two minutes, breathe and tell myself to stop spamming the screen and actually watch the pattern of the cars and the trains. Once I did that things started to change, I started waiting half a second before jumping onto the road, I started looking at two lanes ahead instead of just one, and suddenly I went from 2 to 7 to 12 to 14 without dying, even though I still died later on the log section because I jumped too early and fell into water, but it was clear improvement.
My best run for day 3 came after like 20 minutes of playing, that was the run where everything just connected perfectly and I was in full focus mode, I crossed the first road with all the purple and orange cars, then I crossed the railway when the train had just passed, then I navigated the river with the brown logs floating across, and I kept repeating that pattern over and over. My score was going up fast, 26, 27, 34, 40, 43, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 61, 62 and my coin count was now at 141, I was so locked in that I forgot I was even recording, I was just tapping carefully and making sure each hop was safe. Unfortunately I got too confident on the last road and a purple car came from the left when I thought the lane was clear and it hit my bunny and ended the run at 62, I was so pained because I knew I could have gone to like 80 or 90 if I was more patient at the end.
So at the end of day 3 my top score is still 93 from day 2 but my highest for today is 62 with 141 coins total, which is not bad at all considering how badly day 1 and day 2 went. This new season of SteemHop feels a bit faster and more difficult than the last one because the cars are moving quicker and the gaps between the logs in the river are wider, so you really need to time your jumps well or you will just keep failing. But I am enjoying the challenge and I can feel myself improving every day, tomorrow is day 4 and my target is to finally break my top of 93 and try to enter top 50 on the leaderboard. If you are playing this new season too just take your time and don't rush, the game punishes you when you rush but rewards you when you are calm and patient.
