Published 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Description
Old Time Retro Radio presents Our Miss Brooks, “Helping Hands” (also known as “Rumors”), originally broadcast on September 11, 1955. This is episode 306 of the CBS comedy series, starring Eve Arden as Madison High English teacher Connie Brooks, with Gale Gordon as Principal Osgood Conklin.
On the eve of the fall term, Connie returns to Madison High and finds faculty gossip pointing toward unexpected changes for Principal Conklin. As Connie, Mr. Boynton, and their friends try to lend a hand, a well-meant gesture grows into a lively domestic comedy. The episode reuses the script from the September 10, 1950 broadcast, “Rumors.”
Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
