As guru dakshina, they retrieve Sandipani's deceased son from Yama's abode after slaying the demon Panchajana and obtaining the Panchajanya conch. Krishna then sends his dear friend Uddhava to Gokula with a message for the grief-stricken gopis, who are surviving only on the hope of Krishna's return. Uddhava arrives at Gokula at sunset and is warmly received by Nanda, who tearfully recalls Krishna's divine exploits and longs to see him again.[/EN_DESC]
