Chad Gilbert Has Died, And Geezer Butler On Lzzy Hale
Description
New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has died at the age of 45, following a cancer diagnosis in 2021. The band said he passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of September 20, with his wife and mother beside him, and described his favourite accomplishment as being a husband and father. He founded New Found Glory at sixteen and made their first album with $300 he'd saved from a movie theatre job.
Also on this episode: DragonForce frontman Marc Hudson steps back from the band's new album and 2026/2027 touring due to ongoing tinnitus, with Herman Li saying protecting his hearing "isn't something we'd ever ask him to compromise on." Marc's former vocal coach Alessio Garavello of Power Quest steps in alongside co-vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. And Matt Sorum reveals Geezer Butler called Lzzy Hale "the best singer I've heard since Tina Turner" — before saying he'd be up for reforming Velvet Revolver with her on lead vocals.
