Cavan Among Uncapped Call-Ups, Pulisic Among Big-Name Omissions | USMNT September-October Roster Reaction (Soccer 9/13)
Description
Mauricio Pochettino is using his first roster of the new cycle to experiment, evaluate and open the door to new possibilities. Jimmy Conrad, Charlie Davies and Tony Meola break down the 28-man roster, including 13 uncapped players getting their chance to prove themselves at the international level. Which of the fresh faces could make a real impression, and what do the new options tell us about the direction of this team? And while the door opens for some new players, some familiar faces are missing with Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie and Tim Weah among the notable omissions. The crew also get into the goalkeeper and center back situations, discuss Gio Reyna and Yunus Musah, and recap Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup semifinal action.
