This is day 2 of the new season of Steem Hop and the video shows how the competition has become much tougher compared to day 1. Day 1 was mainly for testing the speed and getting used to the map again, but by day 2 every player already knows the pattern and the leaderboard is moving very fast. On the screen the rank is still showing TOP 93 at the top left and the coin counter at the top right is between 130 and 134, which indicates steady progress from yesterday plus today. The map remains the desert theme with orange sand, small rocks that look like desert hills, and scattered green trees by the sides, and the main character is still the white chicken with the red comb hopping forward.
The video contains several runs joined together and most of them end around the most difficult areas. The first run in the clip is near the train track with the red and white barrier, that railway crossing is one of the hardest obstacles this season because the train arrives without much warning and any mistake on the track means instant game over. In that first run the score only reaches around 1 to 6 points before a purple car hits the chicken on the road, then the big STEEM HOP logo appears on a light blue background and the score resets to zero. The second run is better, the chicken starts from the bottom, crosses the first road with purple and orange cars, manages to cross the train track safely, and continues to another road with zebra crossing lines, that run reaches 17 points before an orange car hits it near a coin in the middle of the road, and that 17 is the highest score in the whole video.
Other runs in the same video show different obstacles on the same map. There is the river section with blue water and black logs floating from side to side, the chicken must jump from one log to another, missing a log means falling into the water and the game ends immediately. In one run the score stops at around 8 points because a car hits the chicken on the road before it can even reach the river, and in another run the score stops at 11 points because purple cars block the road in the middle. The cars move very fast with different colors like purple, orange, and red coming from both directions, so timing the hop is very important. At the bottom of the screen the website http://steemhop.org is always visible, with music and sound icons on the right side and the chicken avatar on the left side.
At the end of all the attempts for day 2 the rank is still stuck at TOP 93, which shows that there is no improvement from day 1 even after many tries, and it also shows that many other players are grinding hard and some have already passed 100 points in this new season. The best score in this video is 17 points, which is okay for day 2 but not enough to enter the top 50 on the leaderboard. The main lesson from day 2 is that chasing every coin on the road leads to more mistakes, it is better to focus on safe crossing and proper timing for cars and logs, coins are just an extra bonus. The plan for day 3 is to try again for a cleaner run without dying at the train track and hopefully break into the top 50.
