Particle Decay Rates and Cross Sections

Particle Decay Rates and Cross Sections

Published 2 weeks ago
Description

To substantiate the Standard Model of Particle Physics, we look for certain kinds of particle interactions and other events, including particle decay. Why do decay events produce the kinds of particles they produce, and why do particles decay at all? It's a complicated question, but let's talk about it!

Script by Andrew Mattson, Physics PhD Student at Johns Hopkins University
