Ep.103 - Music Industry, Christopher Nolan & The US Election

Published 5 years, 3 months ago
Description

In a week where:

  1. Sean Connery Dies Aged 90.
  2. Lockdown 2 is here.
  3. Lewis Hamilton wins in Imola, locking up Mercedes' record-breaking 7th straight Constructors Championship.
  4. At least 54 people were killed in a rebel attack in Ethiopia’s restive Oromia region at the weekend.
  5. Baby Shark passes Despacito to become the most-viewed YouTube video.

In the first of two Music segments: (8:01) A UK Music Industry study shows minor improvements in diversity, which we've heard before but for some reason, I get more feelings of genuine pro-activity than other times I've seen an incremental change in The Arts.

In Film/TV: (21:00) Christopher Nolan has a book about him coming out, but I was more interested in what he thought about the performance of "Tenet" and his thoughts on the future of film.

In the 2nd Music segment: (35:05) Chuck D dropped some small gems on a myriad of topics and I felt like touching on a few and using it as a jump-off point for my last segment.

Lastly, in Life: (44:02) The 2020 US Elections is still in the air (as of recording) and I've been thinking a lot of things that surround it, ending on the future and how away it seems when the options are people that either don't want to rock the boat or want to send the boat back 100 years.

Thank you for listening! If you want to contribute to the show, whether it be sending me questions or voicing your opinion in any way, peep the contact links below and I'll respond accordingly. Let me know "What's Good?"
