Raff's Brain #253: Hot Yoga, Doggie Drugs, & the Immaculate Reception

Published 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Description

Rob Raffety has officially entered the dangerous territory known as back-to-back hot yoga.

After a punishing Yoga Sculpt session, he wakes up sore, tired, and feeling approximately like a roadway after being attacked by industrial construction equipment. Naturally, he decides the appropriate response is another hot yoga class.

And somehow…it goes pretty well.

That small victory launches an episode full of classic Raff’s Brain wandering: celebrating half-moon pose, contemplating the resilience of his senior dog Conan, remembering the time Conan somehow acquired his own CVS pharmacy profile, discovering the vet is closed despite Alexa saying otherwise, and spontaneously constructing a heavily Steelers-biased Mount Rushmore of the greatest plays in NFL history.

But beneath the riffs is a real question: How hard should we push ourselves in the name of health?

Rob is attempting to build a more disciplined fitness routine—but wonders where determination ends and diminishing returns begin.

Three days on? One day off? More cardio? More recovery?

He doesn’t have the answer yet.

But apparently he does have another Yoga Sculpt class booked.
