Thomas Russel Clark: Life Beyond the Greens | Wilmington News
Description
A beloved pillar of his community, Thomas Russel Clark, 80, passed away peacefully on September 9th. Born in Fairmont, North Carolina, and a proud Lumbee Tribe member, Tom was known as Coach TR — a generous soul who lived life with passion, purpose, and joy. From caddying as a boy to becoming a standout fullback at New Hanover High School, he carried his love for sports into coaching youth football, soccer, and softball. A dedicated electrician who worked for DuPont, GE, and the City of Wilmington, he also honored his father’s legacy in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Survived by his wife Susan, children, grandchildren, and siblings, Tom’s family asks that donations be made to a charity in his honor instead of flowers.
