New York City FC sits at 8-8-9 in 8th place in MLS, relying heavily on Nicolás Fernández's 14-goal scoring surge and goalkeeper Matt Freese's elite shot-stopping. In this mailbag episode, Paige and Craig analyze NYCFC's recent 1-1 draw against LA Galaxy, where Thiago Martins recorded 90 accurate passes and Freese made 5 crucial saves. We discuss how the team handles double-teaming on Fernández, the midfield battle between Thiago Martins and James Sands, and whether the defense can improve to support Freese's outstanding performance. Key topics include the impact of defensive inconsistencies, the importance of compactness, and predictions for the upcoming playoff push against rivals like Nashville SC and Inter Miami.
