Giriwa May appeared in County Court facing sentencing for driving a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser through Northland Shopping Centre in Preston in June last year. His defence lawyer proposed a combined sentence of just over two years imprisonment and a community corrections order, which the prosecution opposed as insufficient.
