Mets in Ruin, Christie’s Warning Ignored | Wilmington News
Description
The Mets’ $344 million payroll is paying for failure as they’re officially out of the postseason with a dismal .238 batting average and a 4.16 ERA — especially after watching Pete Alonso crush them. Stephen A. Smith blamed GM David Stearns, calling the team a “baseball abomination,” and even dragged in longtime fan and board member Chris Christie, accusing the Mets of ignoring his baseball wisdom. Smith demanded Cohen fire Stearns and warned Christie to distance himself — the product’s been trash, and fans are paying the price.
