The Dome Fire is an active wildfire burning in southern Yosemite National Park near Wawona Dome and Chilnualna Falls. 

The family of Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, has filed a formal notice of claim alleging that a series of security failures by Utah Valley University (UVU) contributed to his assassination during a campus event in September 2025. The filing preserves the family's ability to pursue a wrongful-death lawsuit. 

Newly released federal documents reviewed by the U.S. Senate reveal that Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump during a July 13, 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, exhibited a series of troubling behaviors before the attack that a former FBI agent describes as major warning signs.
