Tate defends Trump dinner claim; Redlands mayor at risk; Mackay mother found dead
Published 2 weeks, 5 days ago
Description
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate faces scrutiny over claims he dined with Donald Trump to discuss the film industry, with Trump’s organisation describing the account as a complete fabrication. Tate has apologised for swearing at a journalist but maintains his account of the meeting, and has declined to release the invoice he says proves he paid for the dinner. Redlands City Mayor Jos Mitchell faces potential removal after councillors rejected her latest leave request. She has been on paid medical leave for 31 weeks. Police are not ruling out murder as they investigate the death of a young mother in Mackay.
