Our Miss Brooks - "The Auction" (Old Time Radio, 1956)
Published 1 month ago
Description
Our Miss Brooks, “The Auction,” originally broadcast on CBS on February 5, 1956, is episode 327 of the classic comedy series. Eve Arden stars as Madison High English teacher Connie Brooks, alongside Gale Gordon as Principal Osgood Conklin.
Madison High joins the local Chamber of Commerce in a charity auction to raise money for better community playgrounds. With Connie assigned to wield the auctioneer’s gavel and Conklin preoccupied with furnishing a new home, donated furniture, a pair of andirons, and some confusing address slips create a lively mix-up. This 1956 broadcast reuses the series’ 1950 script “The Auction,” also known as “Auctioning Andirons.”
Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
