Colbert's Exit and the Trump Connection | Wilmington News
Description
Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” ended amid swirling speculation that President Trump personally pushed for its cancellation — a claim CBS denies, calling it a financial decision. The White House fired back with harsh criticism, calling Colbert a “pathetic trainwreck,” while Colbert himself dodged direct questions with his trademark humor. Behind the scenes, reports suggest Colbert’s manager knew of the cancellation before he publicly clashed with Paramount over a Trump-related settlement — all while the show was reportedly bleeding $40 million annually.
