Episode Details

Pender County is honoring its hurricane heroes with Hurricane Helpers Day on September 17th, a heartfelt tribute to first responders led by the Burgaw Lions Club who’ll deliver treats and thanks to local emergency teams. Inspired by their real-life rescue efforts in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, the club’s also selling a children’s book spotlighting these brave officers — proceeds funding community disaster readiness. It’s a day to celebrate courage while reminding everyone to update their own family storm plans.
