The Calgary Flames are back on the ice as main camp gets underway, and we’re taking a closer look at the biggest storylines facing the team heading into the 2026-27 season with Flames play-by-play voice Derek Wills. What stood out from rookie camp, and which young players could push for NHL jobs? We discuss Jonathan Huberdeau’s return from hip-resurfacing surgery, where the offence needs to come from after finishing last in NHL scoring and what Simon Nemec brings to a retooled blue line.

Plus, what another step forward looks like for Dustin Wolf, the identity Ryan Huska wants to establish and how the final season at the Saddledome could shape this Flames team.
