Algerian police arrested 12 Christians in worship service

Police in Algeria, Africa arrested 12 Christians at a worship service earlier this month.

Authorities accused them of conducting unauthorized, non-Muslim religious services. Under the country’s laws, such unauthorized worship could be punished with heavy fines and long prison sentences. Over 50 Christians in Algeria have faced prosecution in similar cases in recent years.

Morning Star News noted, “These cases … all attest to the persistence of a policy aimed at criminalizing the Christian faith and its structures within the country.”

Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Algeria. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

Send a polite, 4-sentence note to the Algerian Ambassador to America, Sabri Boukadoum, urging him to ask the government to stop harassing Christians and allow them to worship Jesus Christ openly and freely. Send your letter to the Algerian Embassy, 2118 Kalorama Road NW, Washington, DC 20008.
