Sunrise Rotary drops nearly 900 numbered golf balls from a Galesburg Fire Department ladder Saturday, Sept. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Rotary Park on Losey Street in Galesburg — the club's 7th Annual Great Ball Drop, and its main fundraiser since replacing a longtime citrus sale. George and Mary Burgland, longtime club members, joined Galesburg's Morning News on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, to explain how it works and where the money goes.
