Psalm 68: Say It With Your Chest

Episode 1223 Published 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Description

Some prayers sound like we’re trying to convince God to care, or worse, trying to convince ourselves He can do anything at all. Psalm 68 pushes back hard. Today we’re reading one of David’s boldest songs and learning how to “say it with your chest” when we pray: ask God to move, then declare with confidence who He is.

We walk through Psalm 68 line by line, from “Rise up, O God” to the reminders that the Lord scatters enemies, defends widows, and becomes a Father to the fatherless. David doesn’t just hope God is strong. He remembers it. We connect the psalm to Israel’s story of deliverance from Egypt and the glory of God at Mount Sinai, showing how spiritual memory can steady your faith when you’re staring down a real problem.

Then we bring it home with a simple prayer habit you can use today: stop leading with hesitation and start pairing every request with praise. If God split the sea, if He created the heavens and the earth, and if Jesus lived, died, and rose again, then He is more than able to handle what’s in front of you.
