GM to Offer Apple CarPlay, Waystar Jumps, Wells Fargo Rises

  • General Motors (GM) announced Tuesday it is integrating Apple Inc.’s CarPlay in its latest infotainment system, three years after eliminating the popular interface from its electric vehicles. The new system will allow drivers to use CarPlay or Google’s Android Auto on a split screen that also shows key vehicle gauges such as fuel, tire pressure, Super Cruise hands-free driving and towing information. The user interface will debut late this year in the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. GM shares fell in New York trading on Tuesday.
  • Waystar (WAY) saw shares jump as much as 9.6% to the highest intraday since March 5, after Reuters reported that the firm is exploring options, including a sale, two years after a public listing in New York.
  • Wells Fargo (WFC) CFO Michael Santomassimo said that the lender’s net interest margin is expected to be better than initially expected. The bank has been able to pick up more yield as it reinvest its securities portfolio and has also seen higher yields from its lending portfolios, he said. Wells Fargo shares were higher in trading today.
