Say What You Mean: Clear Language Over Metaphor
Stop Making People Decode You
Clear Words, Less Work
When Metaphor Gets in the Way
Description / Summary:
In professional conversations, clear language is a form of respect. This episode looks at what happens when metaphors, jokes, or overly creative phrasing take the place of straightforward communication — and why that creates extra work for the person on the receiving end.
Using a real-world example of two people trying to create a simple event flyer, we explore why direct language often serves everyone better, and how small shifts in how we speak can protect time, energy, and clarity.
Episode Teaser:
What happens when someone keeps speaking in metaphors while you’re just trying to get the actual work done? Today on Radiant Sprout, we talk about the quiet cost of unclear language — and why saying exactly what you mean is often the kinder choice.
