Ferry Sinks in Vanuatu with 53 On Board | Perth News
Description
A ferry carrying 53 people sank off Vanuatu, leaving two dead and 37 missing—despite warnings of dangerous weather. Authorities waited nearly a full day to respond, and the vessel was reportedly overloaded beyond its 30-person limit, sailing without approval. The owner had been de-registered months prior, and the Prime Minister canceled a trip to New York to handle the crisis, blaming preventable negligence for the disaster.
