Ed Sheeran just kicked Macklemore off the Loop Tour after PINK exposed Macklemore’s views on Palestine and Robert Kraft reportedly got other stadium owners together to put pressure on Ed to remove Macklemore from the tour.

While PINK can have her opinion, Robert Kraft can have his opinion, and Macklemore can have his opinion, I feel like Ed Sheeran is the one to blame here.

Ed has been friends with Macklemore for 13 years, and Macklemore has been very open about his stance on Israel and Palestine for the past three years. In Ed’s own statement, he says Macklemore asked him last year if he could join the Loop Tour, and Ed said yes.

That’s where I have an issue.

Ed is known for being non-political and not using his platform to be outspoken about political issues. But when Macklemore asked to join his tour, Ed already knew who Macklemore was, what he stood for, and how outspoken he had been about Palestine.

So why say yes to Macklemore if you knew there was a possibility he would use his time on stage to speak about those issues?

While I don’t like the idea of Robert Kraft calling up other billionaire stadium owners to put pressure on Ed, unfortunately, that’s his right as an owner, just like Macklemore can use his time on stage to express his views, even if some people strongly disagree with them.

If you ask me, Ed should have told Macklemore when he asked last year, “I would love to have you on tour with me, but the views you’ve taken and the way you use your platform don’t align with how I use mine.”

This video is NOT about Palestine vs. Israel or what you think about the conflict. This is about Edward Christopher Sheeran’s recent statement and his decision to remove Macklemore from the Loop Tour.

Who do YOU think is most to blame: PINK, Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, or Robert Kraft?
