Riverfest Canceled, Liver-Fest Steps In | Wilmington News
Description
Wilmington Riverfest is canceled for 2024, leaving a major hole in the city’s fall calendar — but don’t worry, a cheeky new “Liver-Fest” is stepping in. Organizers say they were denied the same setup they used last year, despite bringing in huge economic returns. The city argues they’ve been negotiating since spring and offered multiple alternatives — especially with bridge construction looming. Still, Riverfest’s president vows to return next year, determined to get Front Street back on the festival map.
